Ben Stevens, Age 27, bass/guitar/vocal

A university drop out, he has had far too many jobs to mention, though he claims to have made a good plasterer. When not jumping off stage, he enjoys learning Japanese, practicing various martial arts and pretends to write books with big words in them.

Previous bands (Red House, BSE and Ayatollah) have seen Ben boggled, brewed and brushed with fame, though none have been as shambolic and successful as Kilometre: 42. As the group’s main songwriter, he has been gratified and humbled (a rare ocurence) by their success in Nagasaki, which as he put is, is the best place in the world (excepting his local pub).

Jon Edwards, Age 27, drums/vocals

Aged two and a half, Jon hit a saucepan with a stick and decided that it was fun! A drummer from the old school, Jon believes in hitting ‘em hard and fast. The over-energized beat keeper is known as much for his gurning and unique backing vocals, as for his dazzling stickmanship and could well be a front man in his own right.

His career includes the infamous Red House and Fallout and his past occupations have included those of drama student, civil servant and teacher, though he professes to be happiest either on stage or in the studio. When not beating the air out of his cymbals, he enjoys fast cars and motorbikes, doesn’t really drink and spends far too long in the shower.

An extremely secretive individual (some would say with good reason), Jezz would rather not reveal his real name. Or age. Manically driven by his search for the perfect guitar sound, he is prone to destroying any equipment (both on and off stage) which fails to meet his exacting requirements.

He has contributed towards several songs to the Kilometre: 42 repertoire, including the celebrated ‘Come Down’ and the starkly menacing ‘Something For Nothing’. When not wowing audiences with his dazzling fretwork, Jezz enjoys doing whatever it is he does.

Alison Heaslewood, Age (Never Ask), Backing Vocals

A better singer, smarter and prettier than the rest of the band, Alison’s talent is best illustrated by the stunning studio version of Friend in Her.
Adding some much needed glamour to the band, she somehow manages to make everyone grin stupidly whenever she is in the recording studio.

Her career includes working for various modeling agencies and as a professional hat collector.
In her spare time she eats crisps and fizzypop.
